These amazing postcards with female scientists is an art project [on the platform one of the crowdfunding projects] by talented Russian female artist Nina Pavlova, ninsy at boomstarter.ru [the illustrations in social network group womenscientists, of course, were praised and printing the postcards was an idea by feminist's community]. I received three scientists, the closest to my area of science:
- Rosalind Franklin (biophysicist, X-ray crystallographer), who got the X-ray crystallography pattern of DNA;
- Marie Curie (physicist, chemist), who explored the radioactivity, discovered radium and polonium;
- Sofia Kovalevskaya (mathematician, mechanic), who found the third case of solving the problem of the rotating rigid body.
Other women scientists in the postcard set were: Inge Lehmann, Mary Anning, Antonia Maury, Margaret Mead, Jeanne Villepreux-Power, Lise Meitner, Ada Lovelace.
