And the last! More cards and funny collages from mondschein, Russia [post received 2023.07.14 - part#26]

     I think I can survive for about a year or two just writing every day in the blog exclusively about cards from Lera, mondschein [and I'm blaming myself a bit I haven't started not yet! so maybe during next 'little drop' series of posts]. We also exchange unwritten cards and write them for each other, so I'm not sure which of these are 'sendbacks', but it doesn't matter anyway. All postcards in this selection are from 'My Russia' [=Moya Rossiya] series by one of my favourite shops [amelie-cards.ru, and I mentioned them already here and there], many Russian postcrossers are collecting postcards of this series and I do too, some of them at least. All of them feature photos taken by young Russian photographers from different regions, and for couple years also seasonal and thematical [e.g. trains, farm animals, wild animals, lighthouses etc.], so welcome quarterly spendings!

     The funniest thing about mondschein's recent backsides is the decoration. It's hard to write something in such quantities every week for so many years, so she uses all types of journals and newspapers to make collages - and those are depictions of Russian catchphrases, idioms, and all other types of phrasemes. (1) 'To ride as a rabbit/hare' means to ride on public transport without a ticket. It's either originated from French phrase 'aller (voyager) en lapin' with meaning that ticketless passenger is scared and shaking like a rabbit, but on other version it evolved independently based on the quality of the hare to be swift, run from the conductors. (2) 'A busy/businessman sausage' is an equivalent of a busy bee or eager beaver, it is referred ironically about someone who's always busy. (3) 'Milk ran away' - the milk had boiled over. (4) 'Every family has a weirdo/black sheep', this one is pretty international xD

     (5) 'Juice began to wonder' is said when the juice starts fermenting. (6) 'Planting the plane', the landing verb has second meaning of 'to plant'. (7) 'Love is cruel...' continues as 'could make you fall for a tool/goat' [goat rhymes with 'cruel' in Russian], is the Russian version of 'love is blind'. (8) And the last one is 'horse in a coat' - it is a somewhat rude annoyed answer to repeated questions 'who?' [obviously it rhymes, Russian proverbs are sucker for rhymes], but also can refer to unwanted guest, a company's officer, or a rude, awkward young woman.

     And, finally - it's the end of the postcards received on 14th of July in 2023! Ironically enough I am finishing it on the day, when I received another thick pack of cards, mixed official, forum activities, and penpals, about which I want to write! So 'post received 2024.02.08 - part#MANYYY', here I come!
