Weird postcards: Masquerade and Pooh brains

     First two of weird cards are from Queer postcards [sold by postcardpress internet postcards shop, see also Asian archery post] - Sketches for costumes for Comus (Greek God of fun and celebration) parade «The missing link», 1873, held in New Orleans. The costumes mostly were used for political satire many characters are associated with the civil war and reconstruction, for example, Ulysses Grant, Benjamin Butler, Henry Warmoth, the governor of Louisiana. Charles Darwin and Algernon Badger (the head of capital police) are also portrayed. It is odd and disturbing to think that people were like 'Hmm... I'd be fun to dress as a bloated toad with huge tummy balls and bat wings... Oh no-no, better the handicapped snail!' The last postcard is just fits the first two by weirdness and colours: it is 'Contents of Winnie the Pooh Brains' [Russian Winnie, of course] - The brain work is on, part of the brains correspond to different kind of songs Pooh sings.
